Two Muslims sisters have been raped by the police and a government collaborator in Hashurata, Maungdaw South.

On the night of Monday 20th April, 8 policemen escorted by tabbe ‘Saudia’ entered the hut of a destitute man, and raped two of his daughters at gunpoint.

Locals say that tabbe Saudia has long been eyeing one of the women for marriage.

Saudia’s fourth wife passed away the day before on Sunday. She has been sick for a long time following an abortion that Saudia had forced upon her. In the meantime Saudia has been looking for a fourth wife.

He committed the rape after he was refused.

Saudia is reputed for his oppression on women.
