The French state has mobilized thousands of soldiers and pledged huge sums of counter-terrorism money to combat so-called Islamic extremism.

But behind the headlines there’s another story which isn’t being told, the story as seen by France’s 5 million plus Muslims themselves. And that story is one of disenfranchisement, of racism and of Islamophobia.

On this week’s In Focus, we reverse the dominant narrative. Instead of demanding answers from France’s Muslim community about radicalization, we actually listen to what they have to say.
